Protective Covering Protective Covering is always installed, taking into consideration the overall architecture of the building making it very pleasing to the eye and not distracting the beauty of the stained glass. We generally use 1/4" laminated glass which maintains its clarity throughout the years. In high risk areas, we would recommend using Lexan. The protective covering can save the Church thousands of dollars over the years in heating and air-conditioning costs alone. Protective covering also protects the stained glass from vandalism and acts of nature. Our protective covering is always installed properly vented.
